Germany’s Keyi Magazine proudly announces a release show for Sonic Reflections, their new charity compilation album. The event takes place in three live sets at the Kantine am Berghain in Berlin on the 29th of June. The live performances and album unite a diverse array of Berlin-based and international artists, each a visionary in their own right. With an impressive collection of 44 tracks spanning four hours, this extraordinary release serves as a testament to the forefront of techno and adjacent genres, showcasing the bleeding-edge of contemporary club sounds.

Yet, this magical gathering isn’t just about the mesmerizing melodies and pulsating rhythms—it’s about resonating with the world beyond, about making a tangible, positive difference. When you step into the enchanting realm of this musical odyssey, you’re not merely a spectator, you’re an active participant in the tapestry of change. Each note that reverberates, each ticket that finds a home, becomes a part of something much larger—a chorus of goodwill. Every cent summoned by the sales of this harmonious compilation will be generously passed forward, finding its purpose in the coffers of two extraordinary organizations.

The White Helmets, who tirelessly strive to provide aid and assistance in conflict zones, and Germany’s Welthungerhilfe organization, dedicated to combating hunger and poverty worldwide.

“Now more than ever, the world needs the solidarity and support of its creative communities,” says KEYI Magazine. “The challenges we face are vast and varied, from the harrowing events of the Ukraine war to the devastating impact of the recent earthquake in Turkey and the ongoing crisis in Syria. It is in times like these that artist, musicians, and the wider nightlife community must stand together, utilizing their platforms to promote positive change. Through “Sonic Reflections,” we invite you to not only revel in the cutting-edge sounds of the underground but also to make a tangible impact on the lives of those in need. By joining this sonic movement, you become part of a collective force that transcends borders and genres, leveraging the universal language of music to bring hope, support, and compassion to those who need it most.”

Two masked artists “raised on different sides of the musical spectrum” comprise the Chicago electronic duo NONE OF YOUR CONCERN. The electronic outfit has chosen to be cloaked in anonymity in order to reveal their avant-garde art as an entity rather than personalities. To international acclaim, their debut, Primer, entered the collective consciousness in 2020. Now they have a new single, Shut It Down, out today.

The swift tempo and frenetic, driving beats fuse together messages of social justice and personal anguish. At once an anthem of revolution and a killer dance track, Shut It Down sets out to spark more than just heels on the dance floor…it’s here to spark marching in the streets.

In celebration of Black History Month, all digital purchases of Shut It Down will be donated to iGrow Chicago through March 1st. Help a good cause and let’s get to it.

SHUT IT DOWN!

Following his performances with Gorillaz, and his shoeless and stripped-down 3-song Seventeen Seconds charity set last week, The Cure’s Robert Smith did another round of charity for the holiday season, this time for the 24 Hour Improv 2020 event to benefit Letters to Santa.

This time, filmed in black and white at his home studio, Smith performs three songs from The Cure’s 1981 album Faith, which he notes is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The somber set begins with a beautiful rendition of “The Holy Hour”, followed by a rare display of the Cure frontman on keys for “The Funeral Party”, and finishing with the sorrowful song “The Drowning Man”.

Given that Smith years past signed the accords with St. Nick allowing Goths to celebrate Christmas, this benefit performance for Letters to Santa of three of The Cure’s saddest songs is a lovely, if not “FESTIVE” present to fans worldwide.

You can donate to 24 Hour Improv benefit for Letters to Santa here, and watch the performance below:

Previously, when announcing his 11:45 pm Central timeslot for the non “FESTIVE VIBE” performance, Smith, referring to his noted vampiric circadian rhythm, wryly remarks in his standard all-caps: “LIKE I AM EVER NOT ON CHICAGO TIME.”

The Cure’s Robert Smith is auctioning off one of his Disintegration era Prayer Tour shirts for Oxfam—a confederation of 19 independent charitable organizations focusing on the alleviation of global poverty.

The autographed long-sleeved button-down black shirt is set to go at auction at Bonhams in London next month and is expected to sell somewhere between £600-£800.

The long-sleeved black shirt signed and dated by Smith himself in a metallic pen on the left cuff.

The shirt was worn by him during The Cure’s ‘Prayer Tour’ in 1989, and The Cure’s 30th anniversary of Disintegration shows in which they played on five consecutive nights at the Sydney Opera House, Australia in May 2019.

“I had five of these shirts made in 1989 for the Cure Prayer tour, and wore them at every show,” Smith remarked via Tweet about the auction.

“I dug them out, had the tails shortened by a couple of inches and wore them again for the Disintegration shows earlier this year.”

This charitable endeavor follows Smith submitting an artistic postcard to auction for the anonymous heART project last month.
