Electronic music legends Yello have collaborated with dark techno powerhouse Ancient Methods for the remix of their 1980 electropop classic single “Bostich”, showcasing the importance of the artistic legacy of Dieter Meier and Boris Blank to this day.

The b-side to this 12-inch remix features the source track “hommage aux machines”, which is a more concentrated version of the corrosion washed over the more playful “Botisch”, with cinematic horns imbuing the track with a sense of urgency and dread that only Ancient Methods can convey.

Watch the video below:

Yello’s Bostich (Ancient Methods Remix) 12″ is pressed in a limited edition of 500 copies, and releases November 30, 2019 through Berlin label aufnahme + wiedergabe. The record was mastered by Alain Paul, with artwork by Hectic Laboratory.

Zanias, has revealed the track “Exuvia”, one of ten tracks featured out on her forthcoming new album Into The All.

The track’s lush and rhythmic meditations are born from a spirituality evoked from the naturalists perspective that permeates the catalog of work by Zanias. This rare and beautiful mindset was developed by her growing up around Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia—a part of the world where she often returns for spiritual renewal.

“Exuvia was the last track I wrote for it and formed around a sample of gibbon calls that I recorded in the rainforest in Malaysia during a time of emotional upheaval. The lyrics are based on a very personal experience of death, its total universality and its jarring physicality.”

Following her work with ‘Linea Aspera’ and minimal wave band ‘Keluar’ with Sid Lamar, Zanias has also been curating ‘Fleisch’, a club series and record label releasing music from the likes of Schwefelgelb, Forces and Kontravoid.

In 2016 she released her debut solo EP ‘To The Core’ and has been collaborating with some of electronic music’s most respected figures. Appearing on Dax J’s critically acclaimed ‘Offending Public Morality’ LP, as well as providing vocals on Black Rain’s ‘Dark Pool’ album on Blackest Ever Black and working with Ancient Methods on last year’s “Andromeda” which was also released on Candela Rising.

“Into The All” is due out on the 3rd of December via Candela Rising. We will share more info as it comes.

[dropcap]William[/dropcap] Maybelline returns with a new release from his EBM and Wave project Qual. The release contains 3 tracks on a new 12″ maxi-single that comes out on Avant! Records on Feb 15th. The pulsing lead track Cupio Dissolvi has its video featured above—a surreal exploration of the cityscape from metro to cathedral—with intermittent footage of masked ritualistic eroticism that evokes both Fellini and David Lynch.

The other two tracks on the record are certainly not filler; Bloody Blob is a marching kinesis of EBM and Martial Industrial, and Rape Me in the Parthenon is an intense 8 minute dancefloor fury that has been featured in DJ sets by techno artist Ancient Methods.

Indeed—this is excellent followup material to Qual’s 2015 debut LP Sable.
